Lesson 2

Page history last edited by Anonymous 1 yr ago

Now that you have completed the review for lesson one, we are ready to move on. The first topic we are going to cover is a new pronoun, you. In Dudíli, you is “ono”. When you is your subject, the verbs remain exactly the same, which makes it a lot easier. For example, in the sentences “I am a dog.” and “You are a dog.” the only change is the pronoun.

Eta a feneja foli.: I am a dog.

Ono a feneja foli.: You are a dog.

Okay, now that we have that, we can move on to a new, fun bit of grammar. Possessives. You know how to say dog, but how do you say “my dog”? Well, here is your answer. To declare ownership, you just put the pronoun after the noun that you wish to own.

Ozata eta: my book

However, eta and ono are only subject pronouns. In order to say “It is my dog”, you will need object pronouns, but those won’t come until later. However, with just the word for “who”, you can say things like “Who is my dog?” and you can already say “What is my name?”. Isn’t that great?

Kui feneja ono foli?: Who is your dog?

Io adlumo eta foli?: What is my name?

So there you go! This was actually a very short lesson, but you deserve a rest! Enjoy the lesson review!
