If you were a Féri, you would most likely not remember your parents, because all Férix are raised in nurseries. This is to help the children become more independent. Also, death would be a fairly alien concept to you, but you are aware that when people feel death is near, they go into a secluded area to die.
At the age of 16, you would have been tested for abilities in FanÃli and from there, you would be assigned an occupation. If you were below average, you would be made a hunter/gatherer, responsible for supplying food to your dail. Those with generally average abilities were made the workers, responsible for keep the dail in shape. They would also educate children after they left the nurseries at the age of 10. Férix with abnormally high abilities become the warriors and, in old age, philosophers. It is firmly believed in Féri society that to be a philosopher, you must first experience the world, a right reserved for the warriors and teachers.
As a Féri, you would only eat one meal a day, every evening. This meal is known as koucon. You would eat this meal with the others in the nursery or your fellows in your class. As a Féri, you would most likely not take a lifemate, but rather be wed to another for a few years to a century, depending on your attraction to them. Not only would you have a wife, you would also have a younger male lover, as this is common in Féri households.
